Hello, June...

Finally, it’s sunhat season!  (Kind of the best thing ever for a mom of 2 boys – no time to do my hair, no problem – throw on the floppy sunhat and suddenly I look like I’m a ‘70s movie star – works for me!).  And since the end of that brutal sweater weather, I’ve been accessorizing my bare, hopefully-soon-to-be-super-tan wrists like it’s nobody’s business – arm party for days!!  And what could be more fitting as summer beach days approach than this Freshwater Pearl bracelet I’m rocking here?

Not coincidentally, this is the birthstone for June, and although I’m usually partial to my own or my boys’ birthstones, I’m totally lovin’ this one!  It’s simple and dainty, yet so bright!  I think what I like most about this gem is what it represents and the positivity it can bring to the adorned (i.e., mom with hat hair? yikes!).

Let’s first mention how cool the formation of a pearl is… An oyster basically gets a boo-boo (seriously, what did I call ‘boo-boos” before I was a mom?) and sort of creates its own Band-aid, layer upon layer, with the same material that its shell is made from.  So, the existence of this pearl is nature’s way of protecting itself – so beautiful!  And because of this nurturing property of the gem, the pearl is actually quite in tune with women (maybe that’s the reason we’re so attracted to them!).

Freshwater pearls can enable you to see the good in yourself so that you can love yourself and others more.  For physical healing, the energy radiated by these pearls can help reduce stress, hypertension, and headaches.  So, in this case, jewelry WILL actually help you feel better ;)
